Uniforms provide unity among Girl Scouts and a feeling of belonging to a worldwide sisterhood. Girl Scout Cadettes have the option of a khaki sash or vest keep in mind that this uniform will be used for the rest of their girl membership years with Girl Scouts. Their higher-level badges and pins will move up with them and accumulate on this uniform. All official patches, pins, and insignia are placed on the front of the uniform. A girl might not earn all of these awards—it just depends on her length of time and participation in the program. What is the Correct Placement for Girl Scout Badges?
Girl Scout badges, patches, awards, and other insignia should be presented, worn, and displayed only after Girl Scouts have completed the requirements outlined in official program materials. Girl Scouts at each level have one required element tunic, sash, or vest to display official pins and awards when they participate in ceremonies or officially represent the Girl Scout Movement. For girls ages 5 to 14, the unifying look is a tunic, vest, or sash combined with their own solid white shirts and khaki pants or skirts. Girl Scouts in high school have the option of wearing a scarf that unites their look with that of Girl Scout sisters around the world. Girl Scouts at the Daisy and Brownie levels have a full uniform ensemble available.

Insignia, which consists of the World Association pin and Girl Scout pin placed on a felt tab, goes over the girl's heart, on the left side of her vest, or pinned to her shirt if she has a sash.
