I've always been a bit wary of spas. Maybe it's the weirdness of being rubbed down by a stranger, or those bizarre paper pants. Mostly, though — in Europe especially — it's the prospect of encountering naked flesh that really gives me the, er, willies. It all stems from a trip to the Swiss resort of Zermatt a few years ago, when I boldly strode into the sauna to find a bunch of ruddy-faced Germans lounging around in their birthday suits.

Wonderful modern hotel in the Alpine foothills above Lake Thun. First class wellness spa, but be prepared for co- ed nudity, very civilized nevertheless. Superb views. Great for relaxation and hiking enthusiast as well. The spa is spectacular and is the hallmark of the hotel. The food and wine selection were excellent. A great value.

I'm looking to go to a German type sauna with my girlfriend and wondering where there is a sauna with a nude culture plus generally a younger crowd. All saunas in Switzerland certainly the German-speaking part are naked and mostly mixed there may be a reserved Damenzone for women only in larger spas, with the rest mixed. I am not sure that the intention is to focus on the 'rest of the crowd' - or at least if such places exist, I doubt you'll get advice on the forum. If you are just looking for public access, wellness with saunas etc, the Migros chain of Fitness Park are pretty good.
This is the classiest thermal spa Ive been to so far. There are two pools - one inside and one out but they are both large and the indoor pool has very large windows so you almost feel as if you are outside. There are plenty of water jets and the view is absolutely spectacular.
